By completing this form, you are applying for re-admission after exclusion for failure to meet progression requirements under the University of Sydney's Coursework Policy 2021. The information in your application will be used by the faculty you have nominated to assess your application. Some matters may be referred to another unit in the University for response.

The making of an application is voluntary. However, some fields are marked as mandatory. If you do not provide the information required, the University may not be able to consider your application.

Your application records will be kept securely in the University's recordkeeping system for up to seven years after the date of the University"s decision. You have the right to access and correct personal information about you held by the University. Please contact [email protected] if you wish to do this.   • Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
  • Faculty of Science
  • University of Sydney Business School
  • Faculty of Engineering

This web-form is for students seeking readmission following an academic exclusion from their award course.

You should only submit this form if you are applying to be readmitted after two-years of exclusion.

Students applying for readmission any earlier will not be considered.

Please ensure that your contact details are filled in correctly.

Assessment of your request for readmission requires a case to be made by yourself; you should provide supporting documents to show:

  • how you have strengthened your skills during the period of exclusion, (e.g.: work/employment, volunteering, other study, etc.)
  • how your circumstances have changed since being excluded
  • the strategies you will employ to ensure you meet progression requirements and successfully complete your studies

Please prepare any supporting documents that support your application.

Please note, readmission approval is at the discretion of the relevant Faculty or School's Associate Dean and is not guaranteed.

There may have been changes to your course's requirements since your exclusion. If your readmission is successful you will need to comply with these new requirements to complete your degree. For any questions, please contact your relevant Faculty or School's progression team here

You should outline with evidence how, during their period of non-enrolment, you have strengthened your skills that would assist academic success in a university environment. This could include evidence of relevant employment or educational courses such as TAFE in related fields, and/or English classes etc. You should include how your personal circumstances have changed including evidence that any issues that had impacted on your studies previously had been resolved to such an extent that would lead to academic success in a university environment.

All applications for readmission following exclusion require supporting documentation. Applications without supporting documentation will not be accepted.

Your documentation should support the circumstances that you have outlined in your show good cause statement(s). This might include:

  • Medical documentation that demonstrates that your academic performance was impacted by illness or injury, and (if applicable) that your condition has improved during your period of exclusion.
  • Other professional documentation that verifies that your academic performance was impacted by other misadventure and (if applicable), that these circumstances have improved during your period of exclusion.
  • Evidence of employment, volunteer work or other education.

Medical and professional documentation must include a signature and, where possible, a provider/registration number.
