Chemistry Honours Projects
What should I do once I find an Honours project of interest?
You must first reach out to the supervisor to introduce yourself and learn more about the project and the research group - this could be by phone, email, or in person. As each supervisor offers several projects, sometimes in different areas, this ensures that they know which project(s) you are interested in.
You should talk to several supervisors about possible projects in your area(s) of interest, then assemble a list of four supervisors (or co-supervisor teams) in order of preference, to submit your Expression of Interest (EoI) to the School of Chemistry.
You will receive an automated email acknowledgment of your EoI. You may use this email as evidence of contact with your supervisor for your formal application to the Faculty for admission to Honours if you wish to apply straight away.
Supervisor preferences for EoIs submitted by the deadline are allocated in descending WAM order on this date until each supervisor's supervision capacity is reached. EoIs submitted after the deadline will be allocated to available supervisors in the order received. You will receive an email with your supervisor allocation shortly after the deadline that you may use as evidence of contact with your supervisor for your formal application to the Faculty for admission to Honours.
